It's Friday evening. We've been cleaning and prepping the house for tomorrow's Belated Fairy Day Party, but I'm trying to reschedule the party for Sunday. We had rain today, and we're supposed to have rain and storms, on and off, all day tomorrow. It wouldn't be much of a fairy party if everyone had to cram into our little house, no fairy playhouse, no bubbles, no mud pie kitchen...
I don't have a big reading round-up for you right now. I was reading something for a book club I was recently asked to join, but my summer cough got the best of me last night. I did read Ella Enchanted, which I enjoyed very much. We watched the movie as a family last week, and while it was goofy fun, I'm sure I would have hated it had I read the book first. This photo is only a tiny sliver of our current library haul. We read A Piece of Cake by LeUyen Pham, which I highly recommend for the younger set, and Michael Hague's Magical World of Unicorns is gorgeous. Big Sis and I have been working our way through D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths in the mornings. We're all still reading Pippi in the South Seas at bedtime, and Little Sis is still working on Catwings with me. I will probably start Under the Egg tonight, since it's due back soon.
I hope the weather isn't dampening your weekend plans! It's too bad we decided to do something outdoor-specific, because the rain sure makes reading all the more inviting.
Merry Weekend! Happy Reading!
