Our Fairy House

Dear fairies,
We hope we did the fairy house justice this year.

Hope you don't mind a little glitter.
Okay, hope you don't mind a lot of glitter.

We'd love to do a little more!
Really, we would.
Some miniature fairy furniture, perhaps?
A clothesline or tea set?
A proper little garden?

The first part of our summer was so beautiful!
It was lovely spending so much time outdoors last week.

Because now, it's too darn hot!
We'll stick to the air-conditioning inside now, thanks.
Hope you can make do with your fairy magic or whatever.

  1. The "Home Sweet Home" blackboard chalk sign is adorable! Great use of pinecones (that's what they are, right?) The little wood birdhouse are fantastic for a fairy house setting! I just bought one to paint but I didn't think of glitter! I love glitter but I have such an aversion to its aftermath...it just gets everywhere and stays for the longest time possible.

    1. Thanks! I bought the glitter and some paint to do both the little birdhouses and two little wooden nutcrackers back around Christmastime, but they've just been sitting there ever since. (Poor nutcrackers - they can sit a little longer, I guess.) The glitter isn't so bad when you keep it outside! (Of course, it stuck to us with a little dirt and paint, too.) We already had the chalkboard. It was hanging on the patio steps. I don't even remember where it came from. We collected the pine cones over the last few years. Another mom brought a bunch to our fairy day party last year. (We had acorns, too, but they must have been carried off by squirrels or something.)

    1. Thank you, dahling! I think the lantern was Mr. B's touch last year. I knew we wouldn't really get around to much actual crafting in the house. Weeding it and spraying paint and glitter on everything, though? Oh heck yeah! No problem! :)

    1. Haha! Thank you so much, Emma! I should make the fairies a little swimming pool to make up for the lack of air conditioning! ;o) I'm so through with summer.

  5. If I was a fairy I would totally be moving into that fairy house. Glitter is good, but purple glitter is AWESOME!! Terrific job and what a magical memory for your girls:)

    1. Haha! Thank you! It's kind of a fuchsia, really, so it's the best of pink and purple! It's so little sis. The turquoise is definitely more her sister. ;o) It's been too hot to want to play with it anymore, though! So sad.
