We Went to the Renaissance Festival

It was a beautiful sunny day when we ventured to the Great Plains Renaissance Festival.  We watched belly dancers, ate chocolate-covered strawberries (and nachos. and steamed veggies. and candied pecans.), got our faces painted, bought magic wands and head wreaths, played ring toss, listened to bagpipers, people watched...

So no, it isn't the most authentic fair in the world, but it was fun.  Especially for a fair set up temporarily in a park for two days.

I got a sunburn.

Yesterday, the skies turned to this:

Today is very cold and very wet.

But it looks like the snow has missed us.

Back to books tomorrow!

Oh, and by the way, if you follow us on Instagram, I have set up a new account just for this blog.  I don't have very many real-life friends reading this thing, and now that I have the capabilities for separate accounts, it makes sense to go that route.   The old account is private now.  (If you already follow me there, I haven't blocked you or anything.)  ;o)

    1. This one is a nice temporary festival that occurs twice a year. I love going to the big fest in Kansas City! It's really pretty, on its own permanent site with lots of trees.

    1. I kinda did, too. And I want to make some wings like that, but the tutorials I've found totally intimidate me. They were so pretty!!!

  3. This fair looks like the best kind of fun! We spend a recent saturday at a historical living farm for baby animal days... it's just so nice to go out and spend the day in the sun (minus the sunburns though)

Those fairy wings are incredible! and I love what you did with your pix for this post. :)

    1. Oh, that sounds like fun, too! There's a children's farm up near Kansas City that I want to take the girls to someday. Maybe we can fit it in this summer. It was cold and rainy yesterday, but we had the most beautiful spring snow last night. HUGE flakes, no wind, just kinda still and perfect. It's going to be a lot warmer today. Go figure.

Aren't their wings amazing??? And thank you. :o)
