Marbles

You can find the rules for Ringer all over the internet, but I think they're especially easy to follow at Scouter Mom.  Most people play it outside for obvious reasons.  Big Sis had her turn at a sick day yesterday, so they played inside after Little Sis came home from preschool.

Please think good thoughts for our Siamese kitty, Katie.  She's at the vet this morning.  She hasn't been feeling well.

Have a good day, everyone!

  1. Oh fun! I remember the marble fad sweeping through my elementary school at one point , and then just as suddenly, nobody was playing it anymore.

    1. I don't really remember it being too popular here when I was younger. My grandma always had a great collection of marbles, though. She has this fantastic vintage Chinese checkers game we would play with them. :o)

this game looks super fun. Julia and I briefly were playing marbles for awhile, we were using her hula hoop as a way to contain the marbles within a circle. i think i hurt my finger a lot. i think i need help on my shooting technique!

laughing laughing at the 'lost my marbles' comment....:)

    1. My husband is picking Katie up this afternoon. They are running tests this morning. She's dehydrated and the vet thinks her thyroid is acting up, which is common in older Siamese.

The girls weren't the best shooters. Mr. B kept trying to show them how to do it "correctly," but it was easier just to throw the marble at the other marbles. ;o)

  3. Yippie for marbles!!! Such fun. So tomorrow in my post I mention I have a great love for buttons. But you should know, I also have a thing for marbles. I love marbles.

And I'm sorry you have a sick kitty... pets getting sick and getting old is hard stuff. hard hard stuff.

    1. Buttons are wonderful things. Love them.

The kitty has a bad urinary tract infection. Mr. B shelled out for a shot, instead of pills, because we'd probably make up the cost difference in bandages and ointments - for us - if we had to give her pills. She also had blood work done to test for thyroid issues. She's home, though.

  4. This looks fun! And our carpet is in the same state. :) I wonder if I could get some kitty decals to place all over it in real life. Hope your kitty is doing better!

    1. She seems to be much better today! The shot for the urinary tract infection seemed to be perking her up last night. She does have hyperthyroidism, so we'll be giving her pills from now on. I'm so glad it's all treatable!

I can't wait to be rid of this carpet. It's cheap, terrible stuff. We just have to decide what we want to replace it with, and how we're going to pay for it! ;o)
