White Snow, Pink Hair

Our snow days have come to an end.  The ground is still white, but the girls have finally gone back to school.

And it's about time.  They came home in the snow last Wednesday.  This Wednesday, they return!

We had one last hurrah at home.  The girls streaked their hair pink with "hair mascara," and we spent a while in the backyard, warming ourselves by the fire pit.  What a cozy way to spend a beautiful winter's day.

Picnic, anyone?

I think the gutter is about go...

    1. Enjoy your snow day! We actually had a little more snow last night, but not enough to change driving conditions drastically. So crazy!

    1. Here's the story:

Over Christmas break, we got sucked into visiting Justice for the first time. (My sister's stepdaughters are 10.) Big Sis wanted to spend her Christmas money there, but mom wasn't too fond of the prices. I talked her into going to a locally-owned shop at a mall across town instead. It's the girliest store I've ever seen in my life, but they have amazing sales, and the girls can make their own lotions and colognes. It's over-the-top and not my thing at all, but I preferred she picked out something there. As we're checking out, she sees what she believes is pink lip gloss on the counter, and begs me to allow her to use her remaining money on it. I told her fine, but it was only for pretend play at home. (I'm a stickler.) When she got home, she opened it to find it was actually pink hair mascara, similar to a product we saw at Justice. If she had known she was buying hair mascara, she probably would have picked blue. I don't know what brand this stuff is, but Justice used to have it in the stores.

  3. there you have it... blond hair allows pink highlight unlike very dark almost black hair ;) The girls look adorable! I'm glad you guys got a big taste of winter... and I think that's honestly how winter should be done. A big blow out snowstorm that cancels regular life for a week just before springtime warm up begins. Good job Kansas. :)

    1. It especially shows up if the little girls coat their hair themselves. Despite scrubbing their hair thoroughly last night, there is a definite pink tint to both their heads today. Sigh. I think I agree with you. I like a lot of smaller snow storms, but in Kansas, those are usually accompanied by single digit temps. (I know you know what I'm talking about - so sorry!) This was kinda cool. The daytime temps hovered in the low 30s the whole time. We could actually enjoy the snow for once. I'm ready for the girls to be back in school, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't enjoyed this. ;o) My spring come to you soon!
