Obsessive Nostalgia Disorder Monday: Fairy Tales, Muppet-Style

Where I pay homage to those weird things from the past that haunted me as an adult.

I love Jim Henson.  I'm a total geek.  I love the Muppet movies, The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, etc. etc.

When I was a kid, two of my favorite Muppet-related shows were the made-for-TV fairy tales, Hey, Cinderella! and The Frog Prince.  I remember checking the VHS tapes out at the video store over and over again.  They would pop up on TV over the years.  Then I grew up, and couldn't find them anymore.

I'm so glad YouTube exists.

And via YouTube, I found The Muppet Musicians of Bremen!  I never knew about that one...

  1. Did you see that latest Muppet Movie with Jason Segel? I haven't yet but it looks really cute. I totally remember in kindergarten I had this orange-coloured Muppet Show lunchbox as did a few other kids in the class!

    1. Oh my goodness, I had a Muppet Show lunchbox, too! One of the old metal ones. It was the only metal box in the class. The other cold lunch people had plastic ones.

I think the new movie is very cute. I took the girls to see it in the theater. My little one kept asking me if we could watch it again when we got home. "Then can we go to the theater tomorrow?"

Comments are welcome! I'm a shy blog commenter, too, but I do love to read what people have to say. All I ask is, please be kind, to me and to each other.
